Overview
SBBD is the official database event of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). It is the largest venue in Latin America for presenting and discussing research results in the database domain. In its 32nd edition, the symposium will be held in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, on October 2nd-5th, 2017.
This year SBBD is being organized by Faculdade de Computação, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU).
SBBD brings together researchers, students and practitioners, from Brazil and abroad, to discuss problems related to the main topics in modern database technologies. Along with technical sessions, the symposium also includes invited talks and tutorials given by distinguished speakers from the international research community. SBBD also promotes a Workshop of Theses and Dissertations in Databases (WTDBD), a Demos Session and a Poster Session as co-located events.
In 2017, for the first time, SBBD will be held in conjunction with the BRACIS (Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems) and KDMiLe (Symposium on Knowledge Discovery, Mining and Learning).
.Together with BRACIS and KDMile, the first KDD-BR competition is launched
.Two thematic Workshops were held:
::SBBD Dataset Showcase
::Databases meet Bioinformatics
::Coffee with the honored ones
::Meeting of the new participants of the event with the honored researcher of the 2017 edition for chatting and experience exchanging purposes, all around a coffee-break table specially set for this conversation
.SBBD Best Reviewer Award was implemented, which honored the best reviewer of the articles of the Symposium
.For the first time, a Distinguished Published Papers call was done for the SBBD
